Fashion designer Jeanne Friot, a graduate of the École Duperré and the Institut Français de la Mode, created her eponymous label in 2020, after an internship with the Balenciaga studio. She works with fabrics from deadstocks and upcycled pieces: each model is made to order. In 2024, for the Paris Olympics, she designed the costume of the horsewoman who rode up the Seine on her metal steed to bring the Olympic flag to the Eiffel Tower. Jeanne Friot reinterpreted two chairs with velvet seats, strapping them with mottled leather belts, one of her stylistic signatures. "Creating from the existing is what I do with my brand. I enjoyed transposing this know-how onto furniture pieces using belts. The accessory, a symbol of feminine empowerment, is at the heart of my universe. This takes my ready-to-wear into a new dimension", explains the designer. "It's a way of extending and transposing my ready-to-wear into a piece of design. I've created an object to be admired more than used." The solidarity dimension of the project resonates naturally with Jeanne Friot's commitment to societal causes. "In my brand, it's essential to support political and ecological battles. So participating in a project like this, with a charitable dimension in support of women, has great meaning for me." Press Kit - January 2025, Les Uniques, A creative solidarity capsule featuring eight talented designers, La Redoute.
