Antoine SUBLET (1821–1897) A wooded landscape enlivened by a group of figures, including Apollo, gathered around Pan as he plays the aulos. Charcoal drawing with white chalk highlights on bluish paper, with a repair. On the back of the mount, a handwritten inscription in ink indicating the subject and history of the drawing: “purchased from [the painter’s] daughter.” 22.2 x 38.5 cm (visible area).
