BALKANS, first half of the 19th century Icon of the enthroned Mother of God flanked by Saint Nicholas and Saint John, and surrounded by the 12 apostles and below by the saints Stylianos and Charalampe. Tempera and gold on wood, consecrated on the back and dated "1837". Circa 1837. H. 37 x W. 31 cm. Missing sliding lid. Wear, cracks and chips, especially at bottom.
