La Danse was originally a trumeau, a counterpart to La Musique Musique, designed by the Martel brothers for the Salle Hoche in Paris in the late 1920s. La Danse was exhibited in 1928 and 1932 at the Salon des Indépendants and in 1931 at the Salon de l'Union des artistes modernes. Each Lap panel has its own nuances of color, born of the magic of material transformation.
