Pascaline Rey is a visual artist, sculptor and founder of the De Maarse Paris jewelry brand. Passionate about materials, craftsmanship and technical experimentation, she imagines creations and installations that seduce with their simplicity and precise lines.
Pascaline Rey has transformed an industrial office which, in her view, embodied the functionalist logic of the 20th century. The artist's metamorphosis was meticulous, with every detail designed to offer an emotional and aesthetic experience.
"The essential thing is not to lose what exists, to create new rebounds. I wanted to get away from this purely functional logic, by creating a more poetic, more sensitive space, where the imaginary finds its place", she points out.
Her work consisted in "widening the scope" of the furniture, modifying its shapes to create more space, more circulation, and above all a feeling of freedom and intimacy. The original desk was airbrushed in icy blue, and the designer attached a glazed ceramic ice floe landscape to the left side of the new piece, symbolizing a suspended world, a fragile ecosystem. Pascaline Rey also added a steel lamp to the ensemble. The desk thus becomes a space not only for work, but also for dreams, resources and emotions. The social dimension of this "Les Uniques" project resonates particularly with this artist, who has long been engaged in a reflection on feminine identity. "This initiative is a powerful way of blending art, design and solidarity."
