FRANCE, Restoration period, modified under the July Monarchy Manufacture Royale de Klingenthal. Glaive règlementaire d'artillerie à pieds, model 1816, modified from 1830. Molded brass hilt with scale grip. Faded fleur-de-lys on pommel. Straight double-edged blade with central groove, lined with heel, signed "... Mre Rale de Klingenthal" partially faded and possibly enhanced in black. On the reverse, trace of "1824" marking (crossed out) with worn hallmarks. Blade length: 48.2 cm - Total length: 63.5 cm. Without scabbard. Wear, scratches and bumps; blade cleaned, old corrosion.
