CHINA, 20th century Modern copy after the work of Japanese artist Rikio KOBAYASHI (1952), known as SADANAGA Katana modeled after the World War II officer's shin gunto, type 98. Metal composition mounts in silver-brown, copper or gold. Damascus-style blade, heel numbered 00118. Signed SADANAGA on the tang. Safety knob. Brown painted scabbard with double strap. Blade length: 67.8 cm - Total length: 104.4 cm. Wear, scratches, some oxidation and small chips, including scabbard ring.
