Circular portico clock in the form of an antique temple in gilt bronze and molded white marble with four laurel columns supporting the movement, framed by two laurel branches and topped by a flowering urn. Teeth and pearl friezes, garlanded chains and tassels. Quadripod base. White enamel dial, signed BRUEL in Paris, Arabic hour and minute markers with dots. Mechanical movement with key winding, wire suspension. Louis XVI period. H. 44.5 cm. Wear, stains, a few chips at the keyways, one filled with putty; stained marble, chips and a few chips; one pompom missing from the urn. Bibliography: P.
