Yellow gold (750) oval brooch with four rounded springs, decorated with a large cameo on carnelian representing Cleopatra in profile, with diadem and holding the asp viper, in a triple surround of a frieze of chiseled leaves, and two opaque blue or white enamel ribbons with black flowers and cartouches. Hook on the reverse. Pin in yellow gold (750). Goldsmith's hallmark: Philibert-Honoré AUDOUARD, active between 1844 and 1856 in Pris. Middle of the XIXth century. On the reverse side of the cameo, handwritten inscription at the point "Leon Freville". Probably reassembled. Gross weight : 21 g. - 55 x 46 mm. Small cracks in the pin. Wear and a few scratches; a few shocks to the mounting and jumps of enamel; small soldering on the handles holding the cameo to its reverse; a few chips and splinters to the cameo, especially at the tail of the snake.
