TALLEMANT Paul le Jeune (1642-1712) abbot, theologian, preac - Lot 200
TALLEMANT Paul le Jeune (1642-1712) abbot, theologian, preacher, writer and numismatist. L.A.S. "L'abbé de Tallemant," February 7, to the bishop of Avranches [Pierre-Daniel HUET]; 1 page in-8, address. Always docile to Monseigneur, he has overcome his laziness and "corrected the rhymes of fountain and chesne"; eight verses follow: "Se trouvâ par hazard près de cette fontaine. The freshness of its waters, and the charming shade To relieve his thirst gently incite him ". He adds: "I tried myself on the spines, I could not come to an end, I do not find proper terms". We join a NOTE a.s. "Tallemant": "one completed the revision of the remarks of M. de Vaugelas" (1 p. obl. in-12). Plus a copy of the provisions of the office of intendant of the mottoes and inscriptions of the royal buildings, in his favor (1681).
