Chased and gilt bronze clock decorated with a Diana sitting on the movement, resting on a base cut out of brown patina bronze, with central projection, on four feet, with gilt decoration of pearl necklaces, palmettes, fleurons, rosettes and two bas-reliefs, one openwork with two winged children embracing among foliage, and the other rectangular depicting children in frieze. White enamelled dial, marked PARIS, with Roman numerals for the hours, and chemin de fer and Arabic numerals for the minutes, in black. Mechanical movement with key winding; wire suspension. Louis XVI period, late 18th century. Brass movement cover and gilded fabric flower. H. (to the subject) : 39.5 cm. One needle missing. Some screws on the reverse of the base replaced. Wear, scratches and some stains to the gilding, patina and enamel; chips and flakes to the key entries.
