Invocation of Lucrece to Venus, beginning of a poem (109 lines):
"O mother of loves, O mother of Romans,
Venus, eternal charm of Gods and humans,
You alone, embracing all with your salutary fire,
Peoples the air and the waters, and fertilizes the earth ".
