Combette, Paris, 1849. 93 raised plates, 6 plates of the five continents, 1 double plate of France. Large folio (540 x 380 mm. approx.). Bound in half basane and marbled paper (rubbing, bumping). Title page sunned; stains, wetness, soiling, notably in the borders, and on some plates; a few tears and small losses, notably in the lower part from plate 65 onwards; double plate of France very pitted. Some inscriptions and pencil marks. Provenance: Library of Auguste VERNEUIL (1856-1913), inventor of synthetic ruby.
