Large ceramic spindle-shaped vase with blue enamel and purple clouds, and crystallization under the neck. Silver mounting (925/min. 800) with applied decoration of iris on the body and wisteria under the neck. Round base underlined by a frieze of interlaced flowers, openwork, and violets and four openwork escutcheons on enamelled copper background decorated with the blazon of the crown of Denmark, the figures A.F. [Armand Fallières] and F.L. [Frederick of Denmark and Louise of Sweden] and Sweden] and dates 20-7-22-1908. The lid is topped with a royal crown and cabochons of glass paste like turquoise or lapislazuli or pale green stone (serpentine?). Gilded interior and foliage. On the back of the vase: ROYAL COPENHAGEN and mark K S76 in blue. Under the base: Subcontracted silversmith's mark: Christian Friedrich HEISE, active between 1904 and 1932. Mark of the goldsmith A.M., under closed crown, for the workshop Anton MICHELSEN, active between 1841 and 1910. In the lid: Signature of the silversmith under crown and titling to 925. Guarantee mark (with three turns) (min. 826) for [19]08. Repunched with the Swan. Total gross weight : 5.389 g. - H. : 66 cm. Some shocks to the mounting and enamel, with a few chips; some chips to the stones or glass. Missing a wisteria ornament from the silver neck, wisterias loosened, inside of the lid distorted. History: Armand Fallières (1841-1931), President of the French Republic from 1906 to 1913, made a trip to the Scandinavian capitals from July 18 to August 4, 1908. The sovereigns of Denmark Frédérik VIII and his wife, Louise of Sweden, received him in Copenhagen between July 20 and 22, 1908.
