Porcelain plate decorated with a gold rosette in the center and on the wing of palmettes and foliage in purple on a purple background. Trace of marking in red on the back. Diameter : 23.7 cm. Some scratches. This plate comes from a service, described with "lavender background, arabesque in purple, frieze and rosette in gold", entered the sales store of the Manufacture de Sèvres on December 26, 1815. It was delivered on October 20, 1825, by order of the viscount of La Rochefoucault, to the duke of Rauzan, for the French embassy in Lisbon. On this occasion, the old marks, recalling the hated Empire, are erased. Henri-Louis de Chastellux (1786-1863), marquis of Duras-Chastellux, bore the title of duke of Rauzan-Duras after his marriage to Clara de Durfort in 1819. He was a diplomat in several European capitals. Two plates of the same service were sold by Maître Osenat on July 28, 2020 (n°250).
