Rectangular clock with a lacquered dial and two horses on a gold background. Hour markers with Arabic numerals in red. Signed in the upper right corner "A. Margat". Frame with four gilt brass fixings. Smooth burgundy leather display panel with white stitching, signed in gilt on the back "Hermès - Paris, 24. Fg St Honoré". Gilt brass back plate, screwed, with circular movement case signed "Just France". Dial : 24 x 33.6 cm - Panel : 33.6 x 43.2 cm. Small chips, cracks and scratches to the decoration; missing glass; wear and scratches to the gilding and some oxidation; scratches and chips to the panel, especially to the corners. ATTACHED: Stained wood easel with brass reinforcements. 26.5 x 27 x 19.6 cm. Some wear, stains, scratches, oxidation. Provenance: This is an equestrian trophy, won by Roland de Maillé de La Tour-Landry (1898-1953), a discipline he practiced almost professionally. He participated in the 1920 Olympic Games in individual dressage. In 1953, after the death of her husband Roland de Maillé de La Tour-Landry, Aymardine de Contades (1902-1978) offered this trophy clock to the grandparents of the present owner. They worked on the Acon property (Chalivoy-Milon) belonging to the family of Aymardine de Contades.
