ANGLETERRE, vers 1850
Josepg LANG, 7 Haymarket, London Pair of steel percussion cap pistols. Chests and hammers engraved with scrolls, jaspers, trigger guards in suite. Side safety, blued belt hooks. Octagonal barrels, jaspered in ribbon fashion, signed "LANG, 7 Haymarket, London". Mouths underlined by a frieze of leaves. Smooth. Gauge 13 mm. Walnut or mahogany (?) crossbars, varnished, pommels with reserves decorated with scrolls. Thumb pieces in steel medallion (blank). With their nail sticks, engraved with a rosette, on stirrup. Barrel length: 10 cm - Total length: 22 cm. Wear to the patinas, in particular to a gun, some pitting or small oxidations; some scratches and small shocks, in particular to the sticks. Joseph LANG was active at this address until 1853, then moved to Cockspur Street.
