Ancient sculpture of draped man, (study). Pen, brown ink, brown and grey wash, over a light black stone sketch. Vertical paper strip to the left (0.8 cm). Glued to sheet. Fillet in pen. Annotated lower left in pen probably in David's hand: From a fragment of the Vatican. Lower right initialed in pen and brown ink by David's sons: Julius (Lugt. 1437) and Eugene (Lugt.839). 21 x 16 cm. Small trace of tear in the upper right margin; small foxing; slight foxing.
