Tarot deck D'ETEILLA. Printed and enhanced paper, mounted on cardboard, edges outlined with a red ribbon. Arcana (0 to 21) - Wands (22 to 35) - Cups (36 to 49) - Swords (50 to 63) - Coins (64 to 77). Set of 78 cards. Late 19th century print. 17.8 x 10.5 cm. Smudges, drips; wear, soiling and some stains. Jean-Baptiste Alliette is a French occultist, famous for having popularized a form of cartomancy or divination by the Tarot, which he called "cartonomancy". Around 1788-1789, he had his version of the Tarot printed, a mixture of Tarot de Marseille and Egyptian influences. Several variants were subsequently published in the 19th century, including probably our own.
