Wounded Amazon known as Amazon Mattéi Bronze proof with brown patina. Founder's mark F. Barbedienne and stamp "Mechanical reduction A. Collas" on the terrace. 19th century. H.: 81.5 cm.- Width: 28.5cm. - Depth: 20 cm. Patina wears especially under the raised arm. The model is by Phidias dating from the second half of the 5th century BC, There are copies of it, one of which is of fine quality and is kept at the Capitoline Museum in Rome, but the reference work for this bronze is the marble statue kept at the Pio-Clementino Museum, Vatican.
