D'après Jean-Baptiste ISABEY (1767-1855) -Assumed portrait of Marie-Suzanne ARTHUR (1779- 1807), wife of Louis-Julien GOHIN (1765-1834), paint and colour merchant of the Faubourg Saint-Martin in Paris, Isabey's supplier. Oval gouache miniature, mounted on the lid of a circular sea turtle shell box, with an oval gilded metal rim finely chiselled with rinceaux and surrounded by a night blue enamel net. Bearing an "Isabey" signature in the lower left corner. The inner rebate is in gilt silver (min.800). Miniature size: 5,3 x 3,5 cm. Diameter of the box: 7 cm. Total gross weight: 67.5 g. Scratches, small scale cracks.
