FRANCE, première moitié du XIXème siècle Set of silver (2nd title/800) gilt silver (2nd title/800) cutlery with entremets (re-assorted), filleted pattern and small knives with white mother-of-pearl handles and escutcheons (blank), including: - Two pieces of cutlery. Department, 1797-1809. - Five place settings and a spoon. Department, 1809-1819. - Ten place settings and a fork. Département du Bas Rhin (Bureau 65), STRABOURG, 1819-1838. Goldsmith's mark: Jean-Louis BUTTNER (1769-1840). Total net weight: 1,626 g. - Seventeen fruit knives, with silver blade (2nd title / 800). Different hallmarks of goldsmiths: Bas Rhin, STRASBOURG (Bureau 65), Jean-Louis BUTTNER (x1). Vienne, POITIERS (Bureau 81), L.B. (x4) and D.P. (x7) PARIS, Jean-Baptiste CAMUS, cutler between 1822 and 1833 (x5). Departments or PARIS, 1819-1838. Total gross weight: 533 g. - A cheese knife, with steel blade... Oxidations, wear, scratches. Shocks, especially to the ferrules and a glued handle. Some repolished, and perhaps gilded. In a rectangular box sheathed in grained brown leather, called Russian leather, and a frieze of finials with small irons, with two fermails and mobile brass plug. The lid bears an ancient inscription, crossed out: probably the name of the owner. Wear, bumps and scratches.
