Cosmographia. Paris, Viviantus Gaultherot, 1553 (1551 at colophon), pet. in-4, 2 ff. - 74 ff., soft calfskin, traces of laces, title on spine. Dirt and stains on dishes. With a large title vignette, a double-page world map entitled " Charta cosmographica", 4 moving astronomical diagrams with volvelles allowing navigation such as the position of the moon or the sun and 43 woods in the text (astronomical and measurement figures). Published in Latin in 1524, Apian's cosmography was first established in French in 1544 in Antwerp by Bonté, and reprinted by Gaultherot in Paris in 1551 and 1553. Fold marks on the title page and heavy wetness.
