Living room formed by a pair of armchairs and four chairs in moulded wood, grey relaqué with white rechampi, rectangular flat backs, armrest supports in banded columns, front legs in double banded baluster and rear legs in sabre. Stamped DEMAY / RUE DE CLERY under the front crossbar. Empire period, 19th century. Filled with green cotton canvas. Armchairs: H.: 91.5 cm. - Width: 59 cm. Chairs: H.: 89 cm. - Width: 45.5 cm. Paint wear, some minor accidents and shocks. Jean-Baptiste DEMAY (1759-1848), carpenter received Master in Paris on February 4, 1784. Second stamp used after the Revolution, under the Empire, indicating the address of his workshop, rue de Cléry[at number 259].
