Step by step: How does an auction work?
If you have never sold at auction before, our role is to make your life easier. We take care of everything, from A to Z.

1. Free and confidential valuation

It all starts with a simple question: "What is my item worth?". To answer it, our experts and auctioneers analyze your property.
• Online: Fill out our valuation request form and attach photos.
• At our offices: Present your items directly to us by appointment at our premises.

2. Consignment and cataloging

We place your item into a suitable themed or general auction. Our experts write an accurate descriptive entry and photograph the lot to include it in our physical and digital catalogs.

3. Signing the sales mandate (the consignment agreement)

Once the estimated value is agreed upon, we set a reserve price (the minimum price below which the item will not be sold). We then sign a clear contract, called a consignment agreement (réquisition de vente), which details transaction fees and insurance for your property. No hidden fees: everything is transparent right from the start.

4. Auction day and payment

Your item is publicly exhibited at Hôtel Drouot before the sale. On the big day, the auctioneer conducts the bidding. Once the item is hammered down (sold), we manage the collection of payment from the buyer and remit the sale proceeds to you, net of fees, within the statutory timeframe. Our team ensures rigorous tracking of your file at every step.
