DEBORD (Guy). The Game of War. Paris: Société des jeux stratégiques et historiques, n.d. (1977). White cardboard box with a black-printed lid (285 x 270 mm) containing: numbered cream- and brown-colored wooden tokens, a fabric battlefield, a player board, and an illustrated booklet containing the game rules. This was the production run intended for commercial sale, following a few hard-board prototypes (with metal pieces) that are extremely rare. The Society for Strategic and Historical Games, founded by Guy Debord to widely distribute the game, was short-lived, and the copies remained in storage before most of them were destroyed. Large tear on the box lid.
