The Post-War and Contemporary Art department specializes in promoting French and international artists from the 1950s to the present day.
Our prestige and collection sales feature major works of Abstract Expressionism, Lyrical Abstraction, Art Brut, Figuration Libre, and more.
From drawings by Vasarely to Zao Wou-Ki, paintings from Riopelle to Combas, and sculptures by César, our prestige sales have become an unmissable event for French and international collectors alike.
In June 2018, our department had the pleasure of dispersing the collection of Mr. Michel Robinet, highlighted by a European record for Norman Bluhm’s *Firecracker*, which realized a total of €310,000 (including fees).
Important results crown the work and research carried out to give each artwork the best visibility and strong international reach.
Our experience and mastery of public auction techniques allow us to provide our clients with the most appropriate advice, tailor-made service, and optimal selling conditions at the Hôtel Drouot.
