Project for a sculpture of Gambetta (1838-1882).

Black and gilded frame in molded wood and molded plaster with fillet decoration.
The sculpture was created in 1884 by national subscription and donations from the State and the commune, to be placed in Cahors, at the beginning of the Allées Fénelon, on a pedestal designed by architect Paul PUJOL.
The monument was inaugurated on April 14, 1884, in the presence of Jules Ferry and Waldeck Rousseau.
The sculpture was saved from German smelting during the Second World War, thanks to a request from the municipality.
