Onion striking watch.
Silver case (min. 800) decorated with leafy interlace friezes punctuated with cartouches featuring hunting dogs and animals (deer, birds, rabbit, etc.).
Relief-molded white enamel dial, black-painted hour-markers, with Roman numerals for the hours and Arabic numerals and scales for the minutes.
Fusee and chain movement. Signed plate with cock.
Silver dust cover (min. 800), signed. Blued steel holding blade.
Gross weight: 211.9 g. - Diameter: 58 mm.
Locking spring at 6 o'clock missing.
Movement to be revised, axial stem not working.
Wear, notably to the decoration, scratches and a few bumps; restoration to the dial enamel, showing cracks; small crack to the dust cover.
Alexandre MEYRONNE (C. 1670-1735), clockmaker active in Lancy, near Geneva.
Possibly Pierre-Antoine GAUTIER, listed in Geneva from 1707.
