- Invitation to the BAL PARE at Versailles for the wedding of Monseigneur le Dauphin, Wednesday, February 24, 1745. Text contained in a cartouche engraved on paper by Charles-Nicolas COCHIN (1715-1790) and bearing the signature of Michel de BONNEVAL, intendant des Menus-Plaisirs du Roi.

Black patinated wood and plaster frame with Regency-style decoration (missing).
[This was the wedding of Louis, known as the Grand Dauphin (1729-1765), eldest son of King Louis XV, to his cousin the Infanta Marie-Thérèse de Bourbon (1726-1746). It was at this ball that Louis XV began his affair with Madame de Pompadour].
