Early 19th century French school Pair of circular miniatures: - presumed portrait of Emmanuel Régis Droz, bust, in brown frock coat, father of academician Joseph Droz. - presumed portrait of Françoise Bénigne Blanche Proudhon (1776-1841), in white dress, wife of academician [François Xavier] Joseph Droz [du Rosel (1773-1850)]. Unsigned. Handwritten inscriptions on paper, reattached to the backs, identifying the subjects. Diameter: 6.2 or 6.4 cm - Frames: 22.4 x 19.5 cm. Rectangular frames in molded and gilded composition, decorated with cartouches and scrolls (worn, damaged, missing and restored). Stains, scratches and missing miniature of the woman.
