FRANCE, fin du XVIIème ou début du XVIIIème siècle Silver chalice (min. 800), in three parts. Screwed bowl, gilded interior. Screwed leg formed by a truncated cone knot decorated with three winged angels' heads, flowers and a frieze of leaves on a grained ground, between stylized flower rings with gadroons. Circular base with umbilicus, later engraved with a cross and a coat of arms under a helmet presented by two heraldic angels (worn), bordered by an annular ring underlined by an openwork frieze of leaves. Goldsmith's hallmark on the bowl: "N.? Base without hallmarks. Weight : 338 g. - H.: 23.4 cm. Scratches and knocks from use, notably at the knot and at the bowl, with a 1 cm split at the rim; soldering at the knot; slightly warped base, restored and with a few dents, some at the piercing.
