FRANCE, fin du XVIIème ou début du XVIIIème siècle Silver chalice (min. 800), in two parts. Screwed bowl, gilded interior. Melted leg formed by a truncated cone-shaped knot decorated with flowers and fruit on a grained background, between two rings adorned with olive friezes and pirouettes. Circular base with umbilicus, later engraved with a cross, bordered by an annular ring underlined by a frieze of openwork serrations. Cup without hallmark. Base with two hallmarks: Goldsmith's hallmark: probably Charles VASSADEL, active in CLERMONT-FERRAND at the end of the 17th century. Poinçon de Jurande [G] de CLERMONT-FERRAND de la Juridiction de RIOM, circa 1699-1700. Weight : 560 g. - H.: 25 cm. Scratches and bumps from use; soldering on the knot; base warped, restored and showing crushing, and a few missing pieces.
