FRANCE, Second Empire Three silver (950) entremets cutlery sets, filigree pattern, numbered N. and E. under an imperial crown. Minerve and goldsmith's hallmarks: Eugène SOURY, active in Paris between 1880 and 1897. Probable imperial gift. Total weight: 379 g. Wear, scratches; minor oxidation. Case engraved N. and E. under imperial crown (wear and accident). This type of case containing entremets or children's cutlery, with the imperial numeral, was often offered by Emperor Napoleon III or Empress Eugénie as a christening gift.
