Study of an elderly figure. Round oil on canvas. Partially mounted on panel. Diam. canvas: 24 cm - Panel: 26.5 x 26 cm. Wear, canvas warped, panel fogged. 19th century square frame with circular view in molded and blackened wood. Presumed provenance : According to a handwritten text, affixed to the reverse of the panel, dated Tuesday, October 5, 1802, considering the study to be a work by Bernini "of which very few paintings exist": 1 - Heirs of Gian Bernini known as Le Bernin; 2 - Charles François Poerson, director of the Académie de France in Rome (Paris 1653 - Rome 1725); 3 - Bequeathed to the father of the author of the text (L'Estache?), pasted to the reverse of the panel.
