Sword of edge, model 1779.
One-piece bronze frame with three-pointed guard, fluted handle with 19 gadroons, with cut-out plate, showing various control marks.
Curved blade with a hollow side, a cutting edge and a straight back. On the heel, worn hallmark of Cabannes, deputy director of the Manufacture for 1791 or 1792-1793.
Black leather scabbard with a looped cap (reported?), and brass bolt.
Blade length: 65.5 cm - Total length: 90 cm.
Cleaned weapon.
Wear, scratches; oxidation and corrosion on the blade; shocks, accidents and restorations on the scabbard, missing bowl.
