Gilt bronze and brass clock with a seated woman caressing a dog, symbolizing Fidelity. White enamelled dial, signed GALLE in Paris and THOMAS H[orlo]ger, indexes with Roman numerals for the hours and Arabic numerals for the minutes, in black. The movement's support and quadrangular base are adorned with applied motifs featuring two figures holding a garland and a rhombus with crowns and a torch of Love, framed by two palmettes, resting on four spinning top feet. Mechanical movement with key winding. Wire suspension. Directoire period. H. 38,8 cm. Heavy wear to the gilding and scratches from use; hair, shocks and chips to the dial; oxidation on the plate of the movement and on the back.
