Juridiction de BAYONNE (?), seconde moitié du XVIIIème siècle
Circular presentation tray with six clasps and a molded edge underlined by fillets Centered on a rocaille cartouche with branches of leaves, under a partially erased countess crown, and with the figure R.G.C. probably reengraved later. Goldsmith's hallmark [I.D.B.], inscribed three times: possibly that of Jean-Baptiste DELANE or DE LANE, received Master in 1757 and still active in 1807 [according to the attribution of this hallmark to this goldsmith by Mr. Jean Clarke de Dromentin; cf. hand candlestick of our same sale]. Weight : 615 g. - Diameter : 29.4 cm. Numerous scratches from use and some small shocks. Was this silversmith a subscriber during a period of his career? Because not being able to make insculpt the legal punches easily.
