Milarepa, Magician-Poet-Ermittibetan 11th century. Translation by Jacques BACOT. Etchings by Georges BRAQUE (Paris, Maeght, 1950). Small in-4 oblong Italian style (23 x 33,7 cm). Bound in precious polished wood, mounted on tabs, lined on both boards with a geometrical decoration of the same wood bearing cardboard pieces covered with large wavy ebony fillets, titled spine, mouse grey suede lining, titled folder, slipcase (Philippe Fié). First edition of Jacques Bacot's translation of the songs of MILAREPA. It is illustrated with 5 original etchings outside the text by Georges Braque, two of which are full bleed. The artist has also engraved the eleven initials and printed the whole on his press. The printing is dated April 15, 1950. Limited edition of 110 copies on Auvergne Richard de Bas paper, this one numbered 41 and signed by Braque. Remarkable binding by Philippe FIÉ.
