LA BEAUMELLE Laurent Angliviel de (1727-1773) littérateur. L.A.S. "La Beaumelle", Berlin February 9, 1752, [to François-Thomas-Marie de BACULARD D'ARNAUD]; 1 page in-4 (pasted on card). He offers him his book Mes Pensées: "I admire you, I am sure I would have loved you. M. Rozambert & all your friends have so often repeted me that in you the man was even more estimable than the author, I see here so many people who have all their heart in mind [VOLTAIRE], that I have a real regret to have missed you. You would have avenged the letters that I cultivate, that I love, & that I see cultivated by men so contemptible that I am on the point of hating them.
