SUSSE Frères, Paris Writing desk veneered with brass and tortoise shell marquetry (Chelonioidea spp) (pre-Convention) with a red background, in the first part, decorated with foliage scrolls, decorated with a cartouche numbered E.R. Mouthpieces with gilded bronze flowers. Opening with a double flap, covered with blue velvet, revealing a cellar, and a cover revealing a letter sorter, two glass inkwells, two small covered boxes and a removable pen tray. The interior is made of maple veneer with light wood or green tinted wood, rosewood and rosewood with brass fillets. Hinges and lock in gilded brass, engraved with foliage. The lock signed "Susse Fres. Place de la Bourse. 31. Paris". 34 x 39,5 x 20 cm. Lids of the inkwells reported. A small inner cover is missing. Some accidents and missing inlay; some stains inside. Specimen in tortoiseshell of marine turtle Chelonioidea spp (I/A) pre-Convention, prior to June 1, 1947 and therefore in conformity with the EC Regulation 338/97 of 09/12/1996 art.2-Wmc. For a possible export, it will be up to the future buyer to inquire - before any purchase - with the customs of the country concerned, particularly if it is the United States. For an exit from the European Union, a CITES re-export will be necessary, this one being at the charge of the future buyer.
