Clock with Apollo leaning on a large lyre, containing the movement, in gilded bronze and patinated. Quadrangular base in gilded and patinated brass and bronze decorated with garlands, swans, butterflies, candelabra, resting on corner feet in the form of balls decorated with butterfly wings. White enamelled ring dial, signed BAILLY in Paris. Central rose in openworked brass. Mechanical movement, known as of Paris, with winding with key, with sounding of the hours and the halves. Suspension with wire. Model by Claude GALLE (1759-1815). Empire period, circa 1805-1810. H. : 37 cm - W. : 30 cm - D. : 13.3 cm. The back cover of the movement is missing (part of the drape). Small casting defects, some wear, scratches and small oxidations to the patinas; resumptions or restorations to the ends of the bow; cracks, small accidents and missing parts to the dial. This model is also known entirely gilded or with variations in the arrangement of the patina. A clock of this model adorned the fireplace of the bedroom of the Princess of Moskova.
