Dedicated "to my friend Faure", and dated "London, 2 Apr. /71". Moderato, con moto in B flat major at 3/4. Title and 2 pages. Ma belle amie est morte, Lamento [CG 404; Condé p. 690], on a poem by Théophile Gautier. Dated " London March 1872 ", and dedicated to Jean-Baptiste Faure : " Dedicated to and sung by Mr Faure ". Lento in E minor at 12/8. Title and 2 pages. Perchè piangi?, Cantilène [CG 425; Condé p. 708-709] : " Mi parve, un giorno "..., on a poem by Marquis Corrado Pavesi. Undated (1871?), it is dedicated on the title page: "Dedicated to and sung by Signr A. Cotogni". Andantino in A flat major at 3/4. Title and 3 pages. To the night. Melody (with orchestral accompaniment) [CG 321; Condé p. 634-635] : " Nuit sereine ? Ô nuit bienfaisante?"..., on a poem by Gounod himself [1891?]. Orchestral score, for flutes, English horn, clarinets, bassoons, horns, harp and strings. Andante non troppo e molto tranquillo in E major at 4/4. Title and 10 pages. Attached the printed score for voice and piano with a letter "to my young friend Fernand Corot Ch. Gounod" (cardboard). Attached: the autograph manuscript of the sketch of Cordelia [CG 511] for voice and piano (4 pages in-fol.); and the manuscript of Voyage au pays de Cocagne on a poem by Béranger with piano accompaniment for 4 hands (title and 6 p. in-4).
