autograph musical manuscript for the Cantico del Sol di San Francesco d'Assisi"; 4 pages in-fol. (34 x 25,5 cm) of a bifeuillet (crack repaired on all 4 pages, pale stain on p. 4). Important addition to this sacred choir on the text of Francis of Assisi. The Cantico del Sol [S.4], for baritone, men's choir, organ and orchestra, was composed in Rome in 1862, reworked in 1880-18881 in Weimar and published in 1884 in Leipzig by C.F. Kahnt Working manuscript marked "Fortsetzung der Seite 49": this "continuation" completes the manuscript and corresponds to pages 33-35 of the printed score, on Italian words, with German text below (in the edition this order is reversed): "Laudato sia per nostra madre terra la quale ne sostenta e governa e produce diversi futti e coloriti fiori e erbe Laudato sia Dio mio Si[gnor] / Sei hoch gelobet durch unsre Mutter Erde, die hold uns hegt und Halm und Blumen. Sei hoch gelobet, heiliger Schöpfer des [Weltalls?]" This development is written in black ink on 22-line paper with red pencil strikethroughs. It has 58 bars. This passage is entrusted to the solo baritone, accompanied by the organ, with interventions from the orchestra (flutes, clarinets, oboe, bassoon [Fagott], horns, strings, timpani; we note the metronomic indication of the white at 72, and indications of dynamics and interpretation: un poco ritenuto il tempo, sempre legato un poco crescendo, and contemplativo.
