D'après LE CORREGE (c.1489-1534)
Two lovers testing the gold collected from the rain falling on Danae from the tip of an arrow. Watercolour. Signed lower right "P. PAVESI COP" (probably a copy of the orientalist painter Pietro PAVESI (1844-1907)). 28 x 36 cm. Framed under glass. This is a detail of the Danae commissioned by Frederick II of Mantua for the Té Palace and painted by Correggio around 1531; the painting is now in the Borghese Gallery, Rome.
