Silver belt (min. 800) molded formed of nineteen plates decorated with fleurons and S, connected by four twisted rings, and centered on a large poly-lobed plate with chased decoration of two Asian chimeras, in relief, intertwined, with eyes in garnet cabochons. The plate of attachment in continuation of the central plate. Hook clasp under the plate. The plate is signed "Lepage Moutier, Fecit à Paris 1844". Reverse side of the plate signed "A. Lapret Sculpsit". Holes for fixing a cloth on the reverse of the plate with chimeras. Nine detached links are attached. Total gross weight (belt) : 368 g. - Length : 68 cm - Total net weight (additional links) : 62 g. Some scratches. Gilles MOUTIER LE PAGE (1810-1887), harquebusier and fourbisseur, directed the House LE PAGE in Paris between 1842 and 1865, under the name LEPAGE MOUTIER. He received a silver medal at the Exhibition of the Products of the French Industry in Paris in 1844, date of our belt. But it does not seem to have been manufactured for this Exhibition. Pierre-Alexandre said Alexandre LAPRET (1799-1875), engraver and chiseller, pupil of Devosges, native of Besançon and active in Paris.
