Plain gilt copper collar watch. White enamelled dial, signed, indexes painted in black in Turkish for the hours and seconds. Fusee and chain movement, with spiral under cock; plate chased with scrolls, signed and numbered 40818. With two cases, one in gilt brass decorated with a flowering basket and a frieze of foliage, the other lined with marine turtle shell (Chelonioidea spp) (pre Convention) studded with gilt metal. English work of the second half of the 18th or early 19th century for the Ottoman market. Watch diameter: 26 mm. Wear to the gilding, scratches from use; deep scratch and chips to the dial; small accidents, a few eats and small lacks to the scale. Specimen in tortoiseshell of marine turtle Chelonioidea spp (I/A) pre-Convention, prior to June 1, 1947 and therefore in conformity with EC Regulation 338/97 of 09/12/1996 art.2-Wmc. For a possible export, it will be up to the future buyer to inquire - before any purchase - with the customs of the country concerned, particularly if it is the United States. For an exit from the European Union, a CITES re-export will be necessary, this one being at the charge of the future buyer.
