FRANCE LE ROY, Joinville
Pair of flintlock officer's pistols. Signed locks, with swan-necked hammers. Smooth, fluted barrels, the upper one rounded, then round and moulded, with gilded decoration of a trophy of Love and rocaille on a grey patinated background. Caliber 14 mm. Shafts in walnut chosen carved of scrolls and flowers near the thunder and the ring of maintenance of the rod. Trimmings in cut steel, probably repolished. With two rods, brought back, in brown and blond horn and with iron pastille. Late 18th century. Barrel length: 13.7 cm - Total length: 25.2 cm. Minor wear to the gilding; a few small scratches and bumps to the wood, crack under a barrel nose; some eating to the sticks.
