LEROY in Paris Gilt bronze and brass clock, representing a crowned man, reading standing, leaning on a bookcase containing the movement, surmounted by a pile of books, a square and an oil lamp; a globe resting on a column, to the left of this bookcase. Ring-shaped gilt brass dial, signed, guilloche centre, black painted Roman numeral hour markers and minute track, encircled by a crown of flowers and leaves. A surveyor's trophy frieze surmounting the rectangular base with its four corner feet with foliage. Mechanical movement with key winding, Brocot suspension, numbered 305. Restoration period. 37 x 27 x 10 cm. Wear to the gilding and dial, oxidation, three feet fixation to be checked, missing back glass.
