BISSON, in Paris. Portico clock in gilt bronze, with four turned columns, supporting an entablature, containing the movement, decorated with applied palmettes and with a cornice underlined by a frieze of leaves, and resting on a moulded rectangular base, decorated with a stylised floral motif, on four galette feet. White enamelled dial, signed, indexes with Roman numerals for the hours, Arabic numerals and a railway for the minutes, in black. Circular bezel decorated with a mollette wheel, underlined by a tassel trimming. Mechanical movement with key winding. Wire suspension. With a sundial, reported. First Empire period, early 19th century 36.4 x 21.5 x 13.5 cm. Small defects and small cracks in the cast iron; wear to the gilding; small hole on the base; cracks in the dial, chips and restoration to a keyhole.
